Commercial beekeeping is one of the most important professions in the United States, and most likely, the world. Honeybees are one the most important step in food and crop production. Without commercial apiarist farming bees for the agricultural industry, the food supply would collapse. Billions of bees each year are shipped from every part of Unites States to California to take part in the largest pollinating event in the world, pollinating almond orchards. 

 

I spent time with an amazing apiarist who educated and showed me the art of farming bees. I walked away from this project with an amazing respect and admiration for one of the most amazing creatures on the planet, the honeybee.
